Shabti are vessels which serve as artificial Khat (physical bodies) for daemon Sekhem or Khu. They can be anything - from golem-like bodies made of clay to living vessels still semi-sentient or stripped completely of their minds. The process of preparing them is a closely-guarded secret, and in the case of living beings, quite unpleasant.

A locked Shabti is effectively a holding cell for a daemon. Usually taking the form of a particularly strong human, the Khu or Sekhem is summoned and then bound into its body by force. Although these are semi-legendary, some examples have existed in recent times - mostly daemons bound into the form of Meret. With their Sahu trapped in such a box, the daemon has no real way of escaping, no presence in the Amenta, and no real way of regaining their power without somehow breaking the seals on themselves. Depending on the strength of the maker, these seals may fade with time, or need to be broken using extreme magical force.
