Kheprer NatureFrom StormNexusDaemons evolve. Note that your large/huge demons are all ancient ones in terms of RP. Also, daemons are naturally slightly magic, but not simply 'creatures of pure evil and magic' or whatever. Younger daemons tend to be weaker. There are lots of different kinds of demons, from imps to enormously powerful Fighters. Daemons are unique creatures in that they have a dual existence – corporeal and non-corporeal. Their corporeal form, the Khat, resides in the physical world or the "Diu". Their non-corporeal form, the Sahu, resides in a shadow realm called Amenta. The Khat is sustained by feeding on the plants and animals found in the Diu, whereas the Sahu is sustained by Daemons feeding on the souls or Ka of living beings who have souls and are called the Shuit. The Sahu provides the Daemons with an extra source of power and energy which makes them hard to defeat and harder to kill. Although their mortal bodies can be slain, the Sahu still survives in the Amenta. If a Sahu is without a Khat connected to it, that Sahu is called a Khu. A Khu is the Daemonic presence that is summoned by spellcasters to serve them in the Diu of Mellus. However, in some rare cases, there are powerful Khu that can self-manifest in the Diu from the Amenta without being summoned. These powerful Khu are called Sekhem and these spirits can actually take over or possess the Khat of other beings. It is also known that special statues or sacrificial creatures (Shabti) can be placed to receive the Khu or Sekhem as part of the summoning ritual, although this is usually done by servants or followers of a powerful Daemon seeking favor or reward. A great amount of energy is required to accomplish the manifestation and thus a Khu needs a lot of Ka to be stored. |
