Current Events

Here we put some current events, as told by Bards, Town Criers, and the Grapevine. Consider it Mellus' rumor mill.
- Mysterious fires baffle local authorities. Helpful Spellcaster doses fire in Sparrowvale, but injures dozens in sudden ice storm. Irate guard chases benefactor from town.
- Tension mount between realms as Elves and Humans trade insults. The war of words between the two former slave races escalates as additional betrayals and attacks are revealed.
- Princes of Helon return after protracted absence for three of the five. Despite efforts for story, all that the Herald for the Princes would say is "No comment".
- Darkhaven arena monsters escape into town. Local heroes deal with problem. Un-named sources in Darkhaven administration claim famous, but forgetful local-boy-made-good Vitruvian the Alchemist, forgot the range of his knock spell and created the chaos by accidentally opening dozens of doors on the third floor of the arena cages.
- Par'Patal nobles accuse Espardius leaders of treachery in murder of King and theft of lands. Efforts for additonal comment from Par'Patal lord resulted in broken arm for bard reporting.
- Rumors persist that a stange boat came aground on the shores of Bloodstone with three dead persons, but of shapes and features unknown to the Low Orcs. When asked to see the bodies to help with identification, the guards regretted to inform this bard that all three had been eaten as part of a special ceremony. When asked what ceremony, they replied 'lunch'.
- Tol Arum Kashtilum raid south Darkhaven. Once again Undead from the Valley of the Wolf raid into the city ctreets before being driven back by local heroes. The basis for this attack remains under investigation.
- Darkhaven gladiator fights surge in popularity. Despite protests by several professional duelists, the success of gladiator combat in the Darkhaven arena continues to grow. Fortunes have been made and lost on successes of key gladiators. However, rumors persist that one or more of the gladiators may have been paid to take fall.
