The ritual and the Bloodphage machinery - One or both Daemonic parents present their Tiet (Soul Stones) to the priests. These stones contain the purest blood of the bloodline – crystalised seeds of ancient blood in it’s purest form.

Upon birth a young Daemon is born with a high temperature. Their blood on birth is a virulent mix of toxins and viruses that begin to stabilise as the babys temperature falls to near normal. The purity of their blood will determine their future potential. As soon as the baby is born they are connected to the Bloodphage machinery. Tiet (Soul stones) are inserted into the machinery.

Incantations are spoken and the ritual forms observed. Once all is correct the machine is activated and the baby’s blood is begins its filtering process, through the machine (and the soul stones if present) and is deposited back into the baby’s body. The soul stones act as blood filters – the near perfect blood within them is used as a template and the infants blood cells are altered with phages and magics to become like the samples provided. This has the effect of cleansing the blood.

The first drop of this filtered blood is captured and fused into the baby daemons own Tiet. The blood is crystalised and embedded within an optically perfect artificial gemstone. This new soul stone is the purest blood that the child will ever have and is now a new template for filtering blood of it’s own children. Obviously young born to pureblood parents is already far cleaner than many others, and soul stones will take the baby closer to godhood and their ancient forefathers. It also appears that something from the bloodline is carried to the young through this process, and this helps the baby in it development phase.

There are those that seek to pollute the bloodlines for their own gain. They introduce false soul stones, soul stones that have been tampered with, or refuse to present their soul stone in the hopes that imperfections in the blood will give them powers beyond Ta Surt’s ability to gift. There is even rumour of Daemons trading their own Tiet for a more corrupted one in order to poison the bloodstock of their children. Obviously the Daemon that receives a purer stone will conceive stronger and larger children than before, perhaps even elevating them in the social order.

It must be known that corruption of the bloodlines is sacrilegious. An offence against the holy order and the gods themselves. It has been decreed that this form of blood pollution is a holy sin. Any caught attempting this practise will be sacrificed on the Ne'Khaut-Ahu (Altar of pain) for all to witness and learn from. Their Tiet will be destroyed and their lands and property will become the property of the Prince Horus to do with as he sees fit.
